Job Description: Sous Bread Baker

Our commitment to quality and sustainability drives us to create a welcoming environment for both our team and our customers. We are seeking a passionate and skilled Sous Bread Baker to join our team and help elevate our bread program.
Job Summary
As a Sous Bread Baker, you will work closely with the Head Baker to assist in all aspects of our bread production. You will be responsible for overseeing bread production and maintaining a clean and organized workspace. Your passion for baking and teamwork will be essential in delivering high-quality breads that our customers love.
Key Responsibilities

Assist the Head Baker in the preparation and baking of various bread types, including naturally leavened loaves, yeasted breads and specialty loaves.

Scale and mix ingredients according to established formulas, ensuring consistency and quality.

Monitor fermentation, proofing, and baking times to achieve the desired outcomes.

Maintain cleanliness and organization of the baking area, adhering to food safety and sanitation guidelines.

Operate and maintain baking equipment, such as ovens and mixers.

Collaborate with Head Baker and team to continue development of the bread program and offerings

Assist in inventory management, including ordering and receiving supplies.

Train and mentor apprentice bakers and kitchen staff as necessary.
Qualifications

Previous experience as a bread baker or in a similar baking role; a culinary degree is a plus.

Strong knowledge of bread-making techniques and ingredients.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Excellent teamwork and communication skills.

Flexibility to work early mornings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
